Enhanced Recovery Community (ERC)
The Enhanced Recovery Community (ERC) is a temporary program where people live while preparing for life in the community after a long term stay at Griffin Memorial Hospital or the Oklahoma Forensic Center. Individuals are referred by staff members at these locations and interviewed by ERC staff before becoming residents. Our philosophy comes from a recovery model of serving people with a mental health diagnosis. Using the recovery model, we seek to help individuals improve their skills and abilities so that they are able to move out, living on their own or with the help of others. Services are tailored to each resident and are based on what each person would like to learn and the skills they would need to develop to live independently.
The ERC is designed to help residents get the services they need to prepare them to live by themselves or with the help of others in a community setting.
Services we offer include:
Therapeutic Services provides residents with a way to participate in individual, group, and/or family counseling for their personal concerns.
Medical Services which provides residents with basic medical treatment, medications, and/or follow-up services as needed.
Independent Living Services provides residents with skills training so that they can learn the tasks they need to take care of themselves. Residents at the ERC receive training in personal grooming, housekeeping, money management, meal preparation and other skills as needed.
Vocational Services which provides residents with training related to getting and keeping a job in a competitive workforce.
Social, Interpersonal and Leisure-Time Skill Training provides residents with training specific to relating to others and enjoying personal time.
Family Involvement provides residents with the opportunity to spend time with family if they would like to. Staff at the ERC can often help residents improve or restart relationships with family members.
Case Management provides residents with help obtaining employment, managing medical needs and appointments, and accessing any other services if necessary.
Supportive Residential Services provides residents with services such as housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and meal planning and preparation as well as any other necessary supports until the resident is able to manage these skills on their own.
